Platteville, WI Truck and Tractor Pull July 3rd

We had a great pull with lots of great running iron last night in Platteville, it was a open pull on the schedule, not many other sanctioned events last night. So big thanks to all the pullers that came and put on a great show for the Platteville Jaycees and fans last night. I had never been to Platteville before, their fall pull is always the same time as our Richland County Fair, so this was my first time to PVille. Track really came around as the night went along, and it was a driver track. We all know how dry it has been so they had to add a lot of water, the first 3 classes it was for sure an advantage to have a later hook in the class, all the first pullers in the class turned down their hook and came back later in the class and added lots of feet on to their first hook, but unfortunately for Mike Wegner and his Power Up Super Farm it didn’t work for him, Sun went down about the time SF hooked, and we all know the track changes when the sun goes down. He was the first puller at 310, he turned it down and pulled 301 the second time. He would have gotten third at 310, Sugar Bush was 313 and Binder Express was 311, but that is the way it goes. I am going off of memory, so I may not be exact, but pretty close.

11 in the Super Stock 4×4 class, 10 in the Super Farm Class, 12 in the 466 Pro Farm Class, 9 in the Super/Pro, 4 in the V8 Mod and 5 in the 2wd Mod. Tri State Hooks all their classes twice, except the Super Pro hooks once, I think we had 93 hooks last night.

SS 4×4 Gearing Up Truck of the Brogleys won both 4×4 SS classes with 2 great passes. Very impressed with the Sarge Truck last night from Manchester, Iowa of the Kelley family, that is the best I have seen that truck run. It was a great class of tough running trucks. 11 trucks in the class.

Super Farm 10 tough running super farms Dennis Schaller with the Sugar Bush won both classes, Binder Express was second in the first class Jeff bahl and the doctor deere was third and I think Troy Heiderscheit was fourth. The Second Class was won by Sugar Bush again, he made 2 GREAT, STRAIGHT, WEIGHTED CORRECTLY, PICK THE RIGHT GEAR passes. Chad Sieverding and the new Rumor has it was second and third went to Jeff Bahl and the dr deere. I think it was the first or second time I had seen the Red Resurrection SF of Andy Schuldt, can’t remember where he was from, but a good looking tractor. The Rumor has it Super Farm from Bellevue, Ia really impressed me again last night, really hooked up nice, hard runner. However the Sugar Bush just kept getting everyone by a couple feet last night, that is why he was last years point champ.

466 Pro Farm (hot farm) 12 in the class and it was good one. Mike Renish from Norwalk, WI with his Never Enough tractor won both classes, laying down 2 awesome passes. Tony Mcdonald was second and third went to John Meiere JR got third with his father in laws tractor (dave baker of polo, il). In the second hook John Meier JR got 2nd on 466 express and Doug Birkholz got third, great class, love watching this class, making lots of smoke and HP from 466 with a 3×3. I was picking on the Meier family last night, they had 3 tractors their last night, first time I got to see Brandi drive double trouble, she did well.

Super/Pro 9 in the class-great show Bob Gansmer of Platteville, Wi with the Rutting deere who was just featured in the last Puller Magazine took the win at 321. The Super Pro class has these simple rules Alky burner weighs 8300, 4.1 Lim Pro weighs 9500, Diesel Super weighs 9000 and a Pro Stock weighs 9150, it is a good way to get some good numbers in this class and it was good to see 9 tough runners last night. Steve Bousema with Special Edition Lim Pro was second at 312, 3rd was Dave Hovden’s Diesel Super Ol woody at 310, 4th was G Force Mike Gerlach Lim Pro at 304. 5th was Scott Andres Digger Pro Stock at 292, 6th went to Ron Ament with Just Passing Thru Diesel Super at 290, 7th was Kevin Andres Pro Stock MX at 288, 8th was Matt Blasberg Lim Pro at 283 and Mike Bousema Lim Edition LIm Pro went out of bounds.

2wd Mod 5 tough running trucks, but Jason Sullivan with his new Agitator of Edgewood Iowa won both hooks. Jeff Kelchen said his motor is in that truck, just saying 🙂
Jim Flynn bad bowtie was second and Laverne Kelchen was third, and in the other class, Lavern Kelchen was second and Rod Brogley was third. This is a great class, and really adds to the show when you have 2wd trucks like Tri State does, hats off to them.

V8 Mod-I finally saw Jeff Fortney get beat on his Dirt Devil, he always seems to have a few more feet than the other guys, but Kyle Brown and the Having Fun Deere from Soliders Grove got his in the second class last night by I think 5 inches. JIm Mc Donal had 2 nice passes just a few feet back. Tim Brown is having some clutch issues with the Priority tractor and didn’t hook last night.

Great show, Great crowd, Great Pullers……If you can’t tell I love this sport/hobby! Tri State Pullers Website

I will be announcing for Tri-State in Pepin, WI this Saturday July 7th at 530pm, July 12th in St Charles, MN for Tri State and then one of my favorite pulls to announce is in Darlington, WI for Badger State Sat July 14. What happens in Darlington, stays in Darlington.

Hoping you fans/pullers can make it to Churning Dirt July 20 and 21st in Richland Center, WI. I promise you won’t find a better show than what we put on. (I am little biased, but pretty confident in what we do in RC) $10 per day, Kids 12 and under free. Very excited about our entire show but Saturday night show is going to be Awesome, we have 2 tracks each night and we are having an unbelievable co sanctioned show on Saturday night with Tri State on one track (we are putting an extra $1000 in the Super/Pro Purse, $1000 in the Super Farm Purse) and the second track features the Badger State Pulllers-Pro Stock, Pro Pulling League Midwest Lim Pro, 2wd Mods (timmermans, simons, riedel, fleming etc), 4×4 Mod, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Open Mini Rods and SW Pullers Super Street Diesel Trucks. AMAZING SHOW For the kids we have a monster truck each night and the demo devil Long car jump stunts each night. We are putting on a show for everyone whether you are a die hard pulling fan (live music after the pull Charm School Rejects friday night and Sonic Rush Sat night) or a casual fan just wanting to get away with the family, you will not be disappointed at Churning Dirt.
