Hybrid Redneck Consumer Bargain Alert

While the economy has had it’s fits and starts (not to be confused with my Uncle Albert who has something that sounds like “fits and starts” after he has had a burrito meal, but is much different) over the past couple of years as it lurches out of the grasp of a major recession, there are some real bargains and just general financial wellness tips that here at Hybrid Redneck we take it upon ourselves to pass on to you the consumer.

Step #1. Really dig deep to find some values today…search the internet,,,they are out there, just like this car we found for sale:

Now even though this car is apparently a teal colored, attention-grabbing, chick magnet, car engineer destroying, beard wearing owner, piece of mana from heaven. It is priced at the high cost of $700. Now that might sound like a deal, but here is a deal:

How about this, what would you say if I could get you:

1. A 3-Track Display of Mini-Rod/Truck/Tractor Pullers
2. Jones Chevrolet Buick Cadillac 9th Annual Car Show
3. P&P Carriers & Wisconsin Kenworth Semi-Truck Show
4. Dan’s Diesel Performance Dyno

All for the low, low, price of $10!
Now that sounds pretty cool doesn’t it,,,you are probably saying to your self,,,,”self, that is a really good deal, I am in!”. But wait, there is much more! Because we here at Hybrid Redneck are helping you to stretch today’s dollar as far as possible we also are going to throw in:

5. On both Friday and Saturday night, The Mechanical Mischief Monster Truck, (not to be confused with my own truck that is also a mechanical mischief truck, but is more frustrating than fun to watch, unless you like to watch a 47 year old fat white guy throw wrenches, bust his knuckles, and weave a curse word tapestry that is more impressive than the Mona Lisa herself.)
6. On Friday night the triumphant return of The Demo Devil! (Since jumping a firetruck and piling into a couple of cars windshield first is apparently not enough) The Demo Devil is returning to join us on Friday night to thrill, entertain, and cause us to wonder about his sanity, with 3 different thrills including an attempt to jump the Pink Panther van over some cars. (Now we questioned the Demo Devil regarding the existince of gravity and he has heard of it and knows it exists. He even claims to have had some Calculus classes in school, so we are going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one)

All of that for the low-low price of $10 a day,,,,BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. On Saturday, you will witness history in the making with the first North American Breeder’s Cup Camel Race on the Richland County Fairgrounds dirt track. Yes, I said it, Camel Races, that is not a typo and I am only half-way through a six-pack of 16 oz Pabst Blue Ribbons. We have finally secured the sanctioning body’s permission and we will have honest-to-goodness-not-kidding-one-bit-darn-it Camel Races on Saturday at 4pm and the Finals at 6:00PM.

How is that a for a deal,,,yes, again, still at $10 a day. But hold the phone, there is still one more treat that we decided to throw in, how about LIVE MUSIC?:

8. Friday night we have live music with Charm School Rejects out of Madison. If you haven’t caught them lately this will be the ultimate destination because not only will you get all of the above, but also you get to hear the wide song selection and polished show that Charm School Rejects offers.

9. Saturday night we again have live music with Black Iris from Fon du lac. Black Iris is a veteran band that offers music from CCR to Hank Williams Jr to The Guess Who to Tom Petty. They have opened for Foreigner, Kansas, and the Little River Band.

Now all of that sounds like a much better value than a $700 car, that even though it’s current owner appears to feel that it is all that is ever necessary in life, still is selling it for $700. Makes a guy wonder doesn’t it even if it needs a headgasket replaced?

Operators are standing by awaiting your calls now,,,well actually that’s not true at all. All you have to do is show up on Friday July 20 and Saturday July 21 to take advantage of all that is offered. See you there!!!!

Churning Dirt Car Show July 20th, 2012 Richland Center, WI-Fairgrounds

Churning Dirt Update

We have heard some concerns about the scheduled Classic Car
Show at Churning Dirt on July 21st. The Churning Dirt staff and all
of those at Jones Chevy would like to assure everybody that we
are car guys (and gals) and would never support an event that
put your Classic Car at risk. We are looking for a long term
relationship and honestly feel this change will improve this car show.

Despite the name, “Churning Dirt”, we actually do a great job
of keeping the pulling track moist to reduce any dust. If you have
been at our spring or fall events there is more dust due to
grass/dirt drags with motorcycles, ATV, and snowmobiles. There
will be no such events in July.  Just ask the regular participants
in the Semi and Truck show who return every year.  In addition,
the car show will be held away from the track, behind the
grandstands, in the grass. There should be minimal exposure
to dust or dirt.

We fully understand the pride you have in your classic car.
We truly think this will be an enjoyable event for the car owners
and spectators. With over 5000 spectators expected, we hope
that together we can show the time, money, and pride that
you have put into your car.

See you at Churning Dirt!

Both days are jam packed with action including the triumphant return of the Demo Devil who will attempt several stunts such as the dangerous “Steel Wall Crash” with a convertible car. The event starts on Friday, July 20 at 6:00 p.m. with the American Mini-Pullers, the Tri-County Pullers, the Badger State Pullers, and the Southwest Wisconsin Pullers competing simultaneously on three pulling tracks. The action heats up at 9:00 p.m. with three stunts by the Demo Devil and nationally known Mechanical Mischief Monster on the pulling tracks. The Madison based band, “Charm School Rejects” will wrap up the evening with a performance in the pits.

Camel racing begins at 4:00 p.m. with four heats to determine the finalists for the North American Camel Breeders Cup.  The finals will begin at 6:00 p.m. “The Big Show” with the Badger State Pullers, the Tri-State Pullers, and the Tri-County Pullers on two tracks will follow, and at 10:00 p.m. the Demo Devil will attempt a steel wall crash, with a convertible and the Mechanical Mischief Monster Truck will once again thrill the audience. Also at 10:00, “Sonic Rush” a rock experience that melds the “Rock Arena era’s driving guitar rhythms with today’s cutting edge”.
